IZOLRUT – cold shrink set for connecting cables and wires
Description
Application:
Repair kits of the type IZOLRUT can be used in underground workings of Mining Plants and in specialist repair workshops underground and on the surface:
- when connecting mining power cables with insulation, sheath and thermoplastic sheath for a voltage of 0.6 / 1 kV, 3.6 / 6 kV and 6 / 10kV and cross-sections of working conductors 35mm2 – 185mm2,
- when connecting and repairing mining sheath cables with cross-sections of working conductors 25mm2 – 95mm2,
- when connecting screened signaling cables to a rated voltage not exceeding 0.6 / 1 kV,
- when connecting unshielded signaling cables to rated voltage not exceeding 0.6 / 1 kV,
- when connecting mining telecommunications cables,
- when connecting telecommunications cables for opencast Mining Plants,
- for connecting shielded signaling and telecommunications cables,
- for connecting unshielded signaling and telecommunications cables.

- flexibility of the repair site connecting cables or wires,
- the water resistance of the set is additionally improved by the use of a caulking putty,
- there is no need to use a burner as in the heat-shrinkable technology,
- it is not necessary to solder the grounding sleeve,
- high durability and high technical parameters.

- The kits can be used to connect and repair cables and wires of a wide variety of cross-sections as shown in the tables below,
- the ability to repair damage to a cable or wire in a very short time, minimizing the downtime of machines and devices to a minimum,
- cables / wires can be put into operation immediately after repair or joining ,
- the technology is based on the use of the best Temflex insulating tapes available on the market, semi-conductive and copper braids manufactured by 3M,
- in repair kits type IZOLRUT the need to use glue and sealing compound has been eliminated,
- much greater durability and much higher mechanical and electrical parameters than sets from other companies,
- the cost of performing a repair with a kit IZOLRUT is much lower than third-party flood joint kits.

A detailed description of the universal technology of joining and repairing mining cables and tire wires to a rated voltage not exceeding 3.6 / 6kV using cold-shrinkable materials of the “IZOLRUT” type has a new Expert’s Opinion No. 01/11/2016 of 03/11/2016 issued by the Research Center and Certification Institutes of Innovative Technologies EMAG in Katowice.
