Article about SBS-4Lion in the scientific journal “Mineral Engineering”
Scientific article published in the latest issue of the scientific journal “Mineral Engineering” on an innovative series of flame-proof lithium-ion batteries of the SBS-4Lion type for powering battery locomotives in underground mines and surface shunting locomotives with stored energy of 105 kWh and 150 kWh.
Battery locomotives and diesel locomotives are used in horizontal transport in Polish underground mines.
At the moment, diesel locomotives have proven to be economically expensive: high diesel consumption, low durability of the drive motors and pollution of the working environment. Battery locomotives have again become more economical and environmentally friendly. Based on the above, P.H.P.U.Izol-Plast sp. z o o carried out an EU-funded project, developing and implementing a physically innovative solution for a series of rechargeable batteries in lithium-ion technology with capacities of 105kWh and 150kWh.
This article was produced as part of a project supported by European Funds:
Conducting research and development work to develop an innovative product – a series of flame-proof Li-Ion batteries for powering locomotives in underground mines with stored energy of 105 kWh and 150 kWh.
Testing of the individual components of the overall project was carried out in the “Laborex” laboratory of the OBAC – Gliwice company, and functional tests in the PHPU “Izol-Plast” Sp. z o.o.
For the development of the BPS-500 fuses, collaboration with dr inż. Antoni Przygrodzki of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology was carried out.
