Description
Flame-proof junction boxes type USO 2 – **** They are suitable for safe use in underground mines in workings classified as “a”, “b” or “c” of methane explosion hazard and “A” or “B” class of coal dust explosion hazard.
Universal flameproof boxes type USO 2 – **** are intended for connecting shielded mining power cables made of thermoplastics and mining tire cables with rated voltages not exceeding 3.6 / 6 kV in all workings of non-methane and methane mining plants.
The series of USO boxes:
- USO 2-6352 – box with an insulation level of 6000 V, with 350 A current clamps, pass-through,
- USO 2-6353 – box with an insulation level of 6000 V, with 350 A current terminals, straight-through or manifold, (3 cable inlet sockets),
- USO 2-1402 – box with insulation level max. 1100 V, with 400 A current terminals, through hole,
- USO 2-1403 – box with insulation level max. 1100 V, with 400 A current terminals, straight-through or branching, (3 cable inlet sockets),
- USO 2-1404 – box with insulation level max. 1100 V, with 400 A current terminals, straight-through or branching, (4 cable inlet sockets),
For type boxes USO 2-1402, USO 2-1403, USO 2-1404 it is possible to use three types of covers: cover without sight glasses or cover with four sight glasses WZA-70 or three type sight glasses WZA-90.

The box, as a flameproof casing, which is the basis for the series of types of USO boxes, is made in the form of a steel tube cylinder. Four support sleeves are welded on the outside of the box, used to fix or suspend the box.
Depending on the version of the box (version 1, version 2 or version 3), it has 2, 3 or 4 cable inlet sockets. Cable glands type WKp-1, WKp-2, WKp-3, WKp-4 can be mounted to the cable glands.. Depending on the needs, individual inlets can be closed with plugs Z-WKp or the reduction of the R-WMg inlets.
In the center of the box there are two earthing clamps for earthing general screens of cables or wires. On the outside of the box, there is one earthing terminal for earthing the box.
The upper closure of the box is a flameproof cover with a flameproof cylindrical gap. The cover is closed by turning it through an angle of 15 o and completely locking it by means of a toothed key cooperating with a rack attached to one of the catches of the box cover.

Universal flameproof boxes type USO 2 – **** have an EC examination certificate: OBAC 09ATEX266X z dnia 20.10.2009r. which is supplemented by Appendix No. 1 of30.07.2012r. issued by the Center for Testing, Attestation and Certification of OBAC Sp. z o. o. in Gliwice.
The basic requirements of safety and health protection were implemented by meeting the requirements of the following standards:
